None of the most meritorious than Clement Lefebvre has announced the next major version of Linux Mint operating system. Was called Isadora, Linux Mint 9 is available starting today and ready for download. Open source operating system is distributed both to the architecture 32-bit and 64-bit, like a Live CD or Live DVD (with Oracle’s Java 6, VLC media player, OpenOffice.org, F-Spot, Samba, wallpapers and extra fonts Dejavu).

The existence of Linux Mint 9 (Isadora), itself based on the latest release of the Ubuntu operating system 10:04 LTS (Lucid Lynx), and is supported by the Linux kernel 2.6.32.11 same. Linux Mint 9 is equipped with more than 30,000 software packages repository, backup / restore the latest tools, Mint Menu has been repaired, the Windows installer, new artwork and lots of other good repair.

Linux Mint 9 this has an installer that has been modified and looks similar to the features possessed Ubuntu 10.0. These operating systems include the latest features that spelled well. And one feature not found on the popular Ubuntu OS, is the welcome screen which is very helpful and instructive. The existence of a useful application and desktop improvements, such as Mozilla, Thunderbird 3 Pidgin or Open in Terminal script to Nautilus was also present in this release!

Linux Mint 9 (Isadora) was able to boot faster, with support for three years on the desktop and five years on the server (a LTS release). In the presence of much good and beautiful wallpaper, some good themes GNOME and GNOME icon modest, would have made the operating system it will feel pleasant to the eye.

Literally, Linux Mint will still always be an operating system is elegant, simple to use, up-to-date, 100% free and the Linux operating system based on the popularity of the Ubuntu operating system. This operating system offers both a paid commercial support to companies and individuals. Also, surely there is a free community support available from the forum and IRC channel.

Linux server in the world is no doubt the ability and scalability + security + available and others. But for desktop use Linux to clean up a lot in order to meet customer needs in a variety of users ranging from the home users, the new students know computers, office users and so on.

I myself again try and experiment with all kinds of desktop Linux with parameters (demand) of my own. Here are some parameters that the author made a reference, for at least one or more suitable Linux distro for the desktop. I happened to work in private enterprise and developer PL / SQL and also concurrently the administrator.

The following parameters (in this case again I use the word need) that I managed to find within the scope around where I work:

1. Easy installation and usage
2. Easy file sharing
3. Rapid loading
4. Hurry and lightweight
5. Responship
6. Multimedia (audio and video)
7. Browser
8. Email
9. Chatting
10. Best in show
11. Drag and drop a good
12. Application shortcuts and folders
13. Stable
14. Office
15. Graphic design
16. Authoring
17. Ease of install and uninstall applications
18. Handling files (PDF, txt, png, jpeg, gif, xls, doc)
19. Stable
20. Safe (at least more resistant to viruses and spyware
and Trojan)
21. Cheap (no license and be hijacked)

Requirements above may still incomplete but at least as early starter for us-we are all in realizing Linux as a desktop solution that is appropriate for all circles. Here is also list of Linux distro I have tried a few and not so much because of time.

1. Xandros
2. Ubuntu
3. Kubuntu
4. Mandrake 10
5. Fedora Core 4
6. Lycoris
7. Knoppix 3.6
8. Simply Mepis
9. Redhat 9

Some distros I have tried the above and from some of these distributions have an advantage and a deficiency.
